SSO
Single Sign-On (SSO) allows your team to securely access Scribe with just one set of login credentials, streamlining the login process and enhancing security. Organization admins can now add domains and configure SSO and SCIM* or edit the existing setup.
Take a look at the steps on this Scribe to find out how to enable SSO for your organization:
Organization admins can always go back and edit/remove the current SSO setup.
Best Practices for SSO Configuration
During setup you'll have a few different configuration options. Here's how we recommend you approach these options.
- ❓During setup, should we select the named Identity Provider or generic SAML option?
We support integrations with most of the major IDPs. We recommend selecting the named IDP if it's listed instead of the generic SAML option.
Different IDPs have slight configuration differences, using the preconfigured option will ensure these are handled appropriately. ✅ - ❓Who should be permissioned or authorized in our IDP setup?
Once SSO is enabled for your Scribe instance, any new users that are invited to Scribe will also need to be authorized within your IDP in order to log into Scribe. Most IDPs allow you to configure security groups (e.g. "All Employees", "Sales", "IT", etc.) We recommend authorizing the broadest group of users (e.g "All Employees"). - Ensure new Scribe users won't get an access error from your SSO provider when logging in to Scribe for the first time. ✅
- IT won't have to permission each new Scribe user individually (reduced intervention and maintenance required by IT). ✅
SCIM
SCIM automates the provisioning and de-provisioning of users, ensuring your team's access is always up-to-date.
Please note: SCIM is available with the Enterprise Grid module. Please reach out to the Customer Success team (success@scribehow.com) to discuss your plan and availability of SCIM.
