Basics: How to create a Scribe using Chrome or Edge

Creating your first Scribe is quick and easy! Just select Start capture, walk through your process like you normally would, and then select Complete capture. Scribe automatically turns your clicks into a step-by-step guide as you go.

 

Step 1: Download the Scribe extension

All users can use our free Chrome or Edge extension to capture browser-based apps and processes. Once installed, you’ll see the Scribe icon in your browser, and you’re ready to start capturing your first Scribe.

 

 

Step 2: Capture a Scribe with the extension

By default, users will see steps created in real-time in Sidekick (the side panel in your browser). If you prefer classic or no capture controls, you can learn how to customize this in the next section.

Now that the extension is installed, you’re ready to capture your first Scribe! Open the extension and select Start capture to begin documenting your workflow.
