Available for Enterprise customers on select modules.

Global teams can share and view Scribes and Pages in any supported language with AI language translation. Translation unlocks more value for global teams, improves accessibility, and expands the reach of your documentation.

Translations are available for any Scribe and Page you’ve shared via link, embedded (in slideshow, slide, or movie format), or through Sidekick. Scribes can also be translated when exported as a PDF, DOCX, HTML, or Markdown file.

When translated, the following content is covered:

  • Titles
  • Scribe descriptions
  • Step descriptions
  • Headers
  • Table of contents

Image annotations, screenshots, and the Scribe app itself remain untranslated.

Translation is available to both creators and viewers, provided the creator’s account is on a supported Enterprise plan. If you share a translated document, your recipient will see it in the selected language — but they can always switch to another language using the translation toggle.

Supported languages currently include:
  • Chinese (Simplified)
  • Chinese (Traditional)
  • Czech
  • Dutch
  • French
  • German
  • Hungarian
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Polish
  • Portuguese (Brazil)
  • Russian
  • Spanish

How to translate your Scribes and Pages:

Frequently asked questions

Who can use translation?
Both creators and viewers can toggle translations if the document was created by an Enterprise customer on a Core, Hub, Grid, or Global module.

Can viewers switch languages themselves?
Yes. Viewers see a language toggle on eligible documents and can choose their preferred language.

If I share a translated document, what language will others see?
They’ll see the version you had selected when sharing the document. They can always change the toggle to another language.

Can I export a translated Scribe to PDF?
Yes. Select the desired language before exporting as PDF. The PDF will include translated text, but screenshots will stay in the original language.

Can I use translation in embeds and Sidekick?
Yes. Viewers can toggle languages in embeds and in Sidekick (the browser sidepanel). UI elements like buttons are not translated.

What happens if I need to edit a translated document?

Editing is only possible on the original English version of the document. Once changes are published in English, all related translations will update as well.

How will movie embeds get translated?
Creators and viewers can toggle translations on movies. Both the step content and narration will appear in the selected language.
