Process maps are AI-generated visual diagrams of your real, mined workflow data, built from actual usage. Ask the Optimize agent for a map (e.g. "Map how support handles billing requests"), and it generates a visual flow showing every step, decision point, and handoff, based on how your teams actually work.
Why people use them
- Pinpoint bottlenecks — identify the specific steps, handoffs, or decisions creating delays and inefficiency.
- Understand downstream impacts — see how an issue or change in one part of a workflow can affect other teams and processes later.
- Surface hidden variations — uncover workarounds, duplicate steps, and differences in how people perform the same process.

How to generate one
Prompt the Optimize agent directly, e.g. "Map how support handles billing requests." The map appears on canvas, and you can keep iterating with follow-up prompts — adjust scope, zoom in on a section, or ask it to model a scenario.
Note: today's maps are generative, not interactive — to see a different view, you regenerate rather than filter live. Interactive filtering, swim lanes, and variant comparison are coming in a future release.
How to export
Once a map is generated, you can:
- Export as PDF — for sharing or presenting outside Optimize
- Export as BPMN — a standard process-modeling format; open it in a BPMN editor (e.g. bpmn.io) to refine further
- Share a link — anyone can view it; other Optimizers with edit permissions can open it in their own chat instance to iterate
Good to know: the BPMN export is a starting draft, not a finished, fully validated BPMN model — it's meant to get you most of the way there so power users can refine it further in a dedicated BPMN tool, rather than being a pixel-perfect 1:1 export.
