Artifacts in Optimize

What is the Artifacts tab?

The Artifacts tab in Scribe Optimize is where you create, organize, and revisit your process maps and projects. This article walks through what's on the Artifacts tab and how to use.

What is an Artifact?

An Artifact is Scribe's term for any process map or project generated from a conversation with the Optimize chat agent. Think of it as a structured output like a process map, a business case, or a project plan.

You can create a new artifact in two ways: through the + New Artifact button, or by asking the Ask Agent button in the bottom-right corner of the page.

Artifacts cover two types of content:

  • Process Maps – visual, interactive diagrams of how a workflow actually flows, built from mined workflow data
  • Projects – written, structured outputs like business cases or plans (this artifact type was previously called "Business Case" in the product; you may still see that name in older references)

From this one page, you can browse existing artifacts, filter them by team or app, type of artifacts, and create new ones.

Each artifact appears as a card showing its title, type, creation date, and current version number.

From there you can:

  • Export – Process Maps can be exported as PDF or BPMN; Projects can be exported as a Word document (.docx).
  • Share – generate a share link to an artifact.

  • If you don't see an app in the Apps drop-down, you may not be whitelisted for it yet; check with your admin.
  • If you're not sure whether to filter by Team or App, start with All Artifacts and narrow down from there.
  • If you need an artifact to stay current automatically instead of creating a new one each time, ask about Live Artifacts - learn more about Live Artifacts here.
