How does Scribe Pro billing work?

Pro_Tag-small.png

Scribe Pro is billed at the Team level.

When you upgrade a Team to Pro, every member of that Team becomes a paid Pro seat.

You can pay monthly or annually, and Pro is billed upfront at the start of each billing period.

How Pro seats work

When you upgrade a Team to Pro:

  • Every user in that Team is included in the Pro subscription

  • You can’t mix paid and free seats within the same Pro Team

You can have multiple Teams on different plans (Basic or Pro). Each Pro Team is billed separately — even if the same users are in more than one Pro Team.

Billing overview

Scribe offers two Pro plan types: Pro Personal and Pro Team. For either plan, you can choose monthly or annual billing.

Monthly plan

  • Billed monthly upfront

Annual plan

  • Billed yearly upfront

  • Includes ~24% savings compared to monthly billing (equivalent to about two months free!)

Example

If you start a monthly Pro subscription on Jan. 1, you’ll be billed on Jan. 1 for the period Jan. 1–Feb. 1.

Annual billing works the same way, but covers the upcoming year.

Mid-cycle changes (Proration)

We only charge you for what you use.

If you change seats during an active billing period, adjustments are applied to your next invoice:

  • Add a user mid-cycle: Prorated charge for the remaining time in the billing period

  • Remove a user mid-cycle: Prorated credit for unused time

Earning Credits

Once your Team is on Pro, you can earn credits for every successful Scribe referral you make. These credits will be automatically applied towards your next invoice.

Payment methods

Scribe Pro subscriptions are paid by credit card.

If you need invoicing, purchase orders, or other payment options, contact our Sales team here. These payment methods are typically available on Enterprise plans.

FAQs

If I have multiple teams on Pro, do I get separate bills per team?

Yes. Each Pro Team is billed separately.

If the same user is a member of multiple Pro Teams, they can be counted as a paid seat in each team.

What happens if I downgrade mid-cycle?

If you downgrade mid-cycle, the change is immediate. Your next invoice will include:

  • a prorated credit for unused time on the previous plan, and

  • a prorated charge for time on the new plan
