How to accept an Optimize invitation

If you received an email inviting you to Scribe Optimize, follow the steps below to join and complete your setup.

You’ll accept the invitation, sign in or create a Scribe account, and then set up the browser extension, desktop app, or both, depending on your organization’s configuration.

1. Open your invitation

Look for an email titled “Welcome to Scribe Optimize!” and select Join Your Team on Optimize.

The link will take you to Scribe, where you can sign in or create an account. You can see the whole walkthrough in the Scribe below:

Didn’t receive the email?

Check your Spam, Junk, Promotions, or Other folders. You can also search your inbox for Scribe.
If you still can’t find it:
  1. Confirm that your administrator sent the invitation to the correct email address.
  2. Ask your Optimize administrator to resend the invitation.
  3. If the invitation still doesn’t arrive, contact your administrator or Scribe Support.

2. Sign in or create a Scribe account

If you already have a Scribe account

Sign in with the same email address that received the Optimize invitation.
If you are already signed in to a different Scribe account, switch accounts or sign out, then sign in with the invited email address. Using a different email can prevent the invitation from being applied to the correct account.

If you don’t have a Scribe account

Create an account from the invitation flow.
Depending on your organization’s setup, you may be asked to:
  • Create an account with your name and password, then verify your email.
  • Sign up through your organization’s SSO provider.
Follow the option shown on your screen. If you are unsure which option to use, contact your administrator.

3. Complete your Optimize setup

After you sign in, Scribe will show you which setup steps apply to your organization.

If you use a virtual desktop or have questions about system requirements, see Optimize Desktop: System Requirements.

4. Complete permissions or consent steps

If you use the desktop app on macOS, grant the Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions when prompted. Both permissions are required for workflow data to be captured.

Some organizations also require participants to confirm that they want to participate in Optimize. If you see a consent or participation prompt, review it and select the option to enable Optimize.
If you decline, Optimize will not collect your workflow activity.

5. Confirm that setup is complete

You’re ready when:

Set up is complete. The setup prompts will close and you’ll see a confirmation that you are participating in Optimize.

You may not see activity immediately. Mining also depends on your organization’s settings, the required Scribe client being installed and signed in, and your work taking place in an approved app or site.

Your administrator may see your status change to Ready to Mine after setup is complete. Actively Mining is a separate status that appears when activity is received from an approved app or site.
