Scribe desktop app does not capture screenshots (macOS)

Why this happens

If Scribe is not capturing screenshots, it’s usually because the required system permissions were not granted when the app was first launched.

In some cases, you may also see references to denied permissions in your session logs (e.g. TCC-related messages).


How to fix it

You can resolve this by resetting permissions and allowing them again:

  1. From the macOS menu bar at the top, select:
    Scribe Desktop → Reset Permissions
  2. Quit the Scribe Desktop application
  3. Reopen the app
  4. Make sure to accept all permission requests when prompted

Important notes

  • Screenshot capture requires Screen Recording permissions on macOS
  • If you accidentally denied permissions before, resetting them will prompt macOS to ask again
  • If you're using a work device, your IT team may need to enable these permissions
