How to use voice transcription while creating a Scribe

With voice transcription, you can talk while you’re capturing a process.
Your words will be transcribed via speech-to-text and automatically added to the corresponding steps in your Scribe.

With voice transcription, you can:

  • Save time: Instead of writing out additional information and context when you edit a Scribe, voice transcription enables you to talk through your process while you capture it
  • Watch in real time: If you have Sidekick open, you can see your words transcribed in real time
  • Edit your steps later: After you’re done capturing a Scribe, you can edit any of the transcribed text in your Scribe

To use voice transcription, follow these steps:

  1. Start the capture – Toggle voice transcription on and begin your Scribe capture as you normally would.
  2. Speak before each action – Before clicking, typing, or performing any step, explain what you're doing or why you're doing it.
  3. Take the action – After speaking, proceed with the action (click or type).
  4. Repeat for each step – Follow this pattern: speak, action, speak, action.
  5. Complete the capture – Once your Scribe is complete, you'll be able to review the transcription in each step. You can edit the text and adjust as needed.
