Autocapture is a way to build your team's documentation automatically, without anyone hitting record.
How it works
With target capture, you start with a specific process you want to document and intentionally walk through the steps to create a Scribe.
Autocapture gives you another way to document your work. Instead of deciding what to capture upfront, Scribe captures activity as you work across approved business apps. You can come back later to find a specific process you know you completed, or discover work you may not have thought to document in the first place.
You can review captured activity in two places:
- My Activity — Your own captured activities, which you can turn into Scribes.
- Team Activity (admins only) — Your team’s activities, organized into workflows. Within each workflow, you can find activities to turn into Scribes.
Nothing gets published automatically. You, or an admin, always choose which activity to turn into a Scribe or Page, reviews, and share them.

Autocapture doesn't replace target capture — some processes are still easier to document intentionally, especially ones that only happen once or that you want documented a specific way.
Who uses it
Any Scribe user whose admin has turned Autocapture on. Admins choose which apps are covered and who's enrolled — nothing is ever captured outside of that.

Good to know
- Autocapture only works with business apps your admin has approved, and only for people your admin has enrolled.
- Nothing is ever shared or published without a person reviewing it first.
- You can pause your own Workflow mapping at any time from your extension settings.
